Just wondering about the thinking behind the 15-post minimum to be allowed to view certain topics...

Yes, you need 15 minimum posts to view the media sections. You are encouraged, however, to not just come here to get your 15 posts and never post again. ;) We like to see new members on the site!

The reason it was done is because we had A LOT of spammers on the boards and they kept attacking the media section, so in order to have the ability to be an active member you need to have the 15 posts to show you are not a spam bot, it's also why you now have to register to post.

yeah and a lot of guests were just using this forum because it offered free episodes

Hmm, fair enough. I was just wondering, why 15 as opposed to 10 or 20 or whatever. I ask a lot of questions. :)

Oh and I don't have an answer to the 15 post thing. I guess 15 is just a beautiful number here. Not too sure why I chose it, although I could make it 25 or 30?

I think it's a good idea. I've run a graphics forum before and people used to just register to mooch off the tutorials. Even when setting a post count, people stop posting after they hit the mark - but hey, it is better than nothing.

Also, maybe make a group with 15+ posts so you can hide the media from guests and people with under 15 posts.... instead of a password, which people can secretly share or whatever with other members or friends, only those groups could access it when logged in.

That's just my idea~

not really personally after you get past about 10 I think that you get pretty used to it.

Thats why I'm posting like crazy tonight so I could PM someone and get the passwords, cause I'll be gone most of the day tomorrow, and it would make sense to give whoever I decide to PM a day to check their PMs. :)

But up until now I had no idea what was in the Media section. :lol: I just knew it must have been good if you're limiting access. LOL

haha well actually it's all the episodes of Grey's except they're hosted on 1dawg.com but the site is down until september :(
