Title: Never know what to call these things...
Description: I guess I'll just say I'm new and Hey!

Besanamo - March 25, 2007 08:50 PM (GMT)
Yeah so who am I and what am I doing here?...

Well I'm Becky or Nora, whichever you prefer. I like em both. I'm here thanks to aimee. She gave me a link on lj. Uhm I'm no good at writing introductions but I lvoe Grey's Anatomy, a lot, so that's why I'm here.

I've been watching random parts of Grey's Anatomy since it first started, but I never really got into it until a week and a bit ago. My friend lent me her season I dvd and I finished it in a day, then I got season II and season I for myself and I'm catching up on season three here though I've seen almost everything on TV. Pretty much all I'm missing is the three episode long ferry thing though i know exactly what happens and a few episodes here and there. But since I have til April the 19th until the next new episode, I'll have plenty of time to catch up on everything. :)

Anyways uhm I'm 17 and I live in Canada. I'll be going back to Europe for Uni in the summer, then I'll have to rely on the internet to watch new Grey's and all the other stuff I watch like Bones, Lost, Prison Break, Doctor Who, Torchwood, etc.
Oh I'm also totally obsessed with football as in soccer adn I love animals.

So yeah that's me in a nutshell. Oh and I love Derek. :P

Okay I just tell you once again welcome now that I know more about you! But something I don't understant...you're Becky or Nora...you've 2 names....?

Besanamo - March 25, 2007 09:03 PM (GMT)
Well I have three first names and most people go by Rebecca, which I'm really sick of so some people call me Becky which I'm fine with. Nora is my second middle name (my first one is Saskia ;) ) I prefer Nora to Rebecca so some people call me that rather than Becky. I don't mind either one as long as it's not Rebecca in full. Does that make any sense?

Mijo - March 25, 2007 09:11 PM (GMT)
Wow 3 names and yes that makes perfect sense...so I guess I'll call you Nora if that's fine with you :)

Besanamo - March 25, 2007 09:25 PM (GMT)
Yes, Nora's absolutly fine and yeah my dad actually added Nora without telling my mom so she was shcoked when I got baptized and it was done so she couldn't change it. Don't you just love your parents.

Haha that's pretty cool ... your dad...and your mom didn't know anything! But I mean...I hope she likes Nora...Nora is a nice name! :) And glad your dad brought in the name Nora...otherwise you would have to live with Rebecca ;)

Besanamo - March 26, 2007 12:29 AM (GMT)
I don't think she minds the name as much as that my dad did it behind her back. But yeah I'm glad it worked out that way too. Although I always have Saskia you go back to if I need to but nobody can pronounce that.

littleone - March 26, 2007 01:46 AM (GMT)
Hi Nora, I'm a recent Addict as well.
I'm glad that I'm not the only one who has been obsessively watching this show to catch up. I haven't been able to watch it on tv yet because I don't want to know what's happening before I get there. I'm almost there though!

What school do you go to in Europe? That sounds pretty awesome. I'm a Canadian as well. :)

Saskia...hm...it shouldn't be so difficult to pronounce...you should try that out!

McMaartje - March 26, 2007 08:22 PM (GMT)
I like the Saskia part! maybe that's because one of my friends name is Saskia, and she is very funny!! she turns red very quick, just like the girl in season two, about episode 6 or so... well, not THAT fast, but actually pretty fast! I love it, it's really cute! that was interesting, wasn't it  oh, almost forgot: welcome to the forum!!

ok! why germany? (sorry that I ask that much, just curious!)

Besanamo - April 7, 2007 07:02 PM (GMT)
Uhm I have no idea where my answer went I posted it days ago. Oh well.

I'm german and university is relatively cheap compared to prices elsewhere. Also you can go into law school directly, so that's basically why. Plus I speak German, English and French so going from those are good languages if you're based in Germany.

ok! yeah that's true! You never should speak german when you're in french.. you don't make friends with that, I think that that's weird but ok...already good luck with your study and come anywhere in the future to the netherlands to eat dutch stuff! haha lol :P

Besanamo - April 7, 2007 10:21 PM (GMT)
Lol yeah I've been to France multiple times and I will not comment on that. I do speak french fluently though so that's not the problem but our exchange program that sucked. We were called Nazis and what not multiple times.

I love the Netherlands! I've been there a few times before and I have some dutch friends, but I don't speak any dutch. I definitly want to go again though.

McEline - April 7, 2007 10:39 PM (GMT)
haha ok! lol :) go to the dutch course (somewhere in the ferryboat topic) to learn some dutch... (if you want to!) My mother went to french years ago and the people there thought she was german (dutch looks like german) so they avoided her... Here there are some people too who think that german people are bad, but I have nothing against german people (I have also been several times in germany), I just don't like the language!

Besanamo - April 8, 2007 02:54 AM (GMT)
As long as its not soccer related I think we usually get along lol. My boyfriend broke up with me when I was supporting the Netherlands in the game against Germany. Idiot. The german players were arrogant assholes at the time, but it ended up a tie so he decided to talk to me again the day after.

Where I went for my exchange in France, the people took german because they hated the english and had to take a language, never mind they hated us too. Oh and the chemistry factory blew up which really sucked cause relatives of my friend's exchange partner died and the building the father of mine worked in had all the stair cases collapse so they had to be evacuated with helicopters. it was also right after 9/11 so everyone thought it was a terrorist attack at first and everyone freaked out. And we all didn't understand what was going on (we were in grade 7 and our teacher was at the doctor's). It blew out windows at the school we were at and we could see a huge cloud changing colours in the sky. And then people started running around with those gas masks from world war II, it really just wasn't great. Here's a sumamry of what happened:

QUOTE

On September 21, 2001, a huge explosion occurred in the AZF fertilizer factory in Toulouse, France, belonging to the Grande Paroisse branch of the Total group.

Three hundred tons of ammonium nitrates were stored (the maximum capacity was 2,000 tons) in the hangar #221. The whole factory was destroyed making a crater of depth 20 to 30 m (65 to 100 ft), with a diameter of 200 m (650 ft); steel girders were found 3 km away from the explosion. The explosion was heard 80 km away (50 miles).

....

The disaster caused 29 deaths (28 from the factory, one lycéen — secondary school/high school pupil — from a neighbouring school), 2,500 seriously wounded and 8,000 light casualties. Two thirds of the city's windows were shattered, causing 70 eye wounds and several thousand wounds which had to be sutured. The full environmental consequences of the catastrophe are not yet completely known.

40,000 people — 10 % of the population — were made homeless for a few days.

It really was scary and we drove past it a few days after, it was like Ground Zero, just a big hole of destruction. It only really hit me then, the extent of what happened. It's a miracle not more people died.

Besanamo - April 8, 2007 02:55 AM (GMT)
Oh and I will go find that dutch thread.

McEline - April 8, 2007 09:57 AM (GMT)
wow that's heavy! I hope that something like that isn't going to happen next week when I'm in Italy for my exchange! I was really LOL when you wrote that your boyfriend broke up because of soccer... but it's true that when there is soccer, everyone hates eachother, then we're like: germany sucks you know!
