does she have a speciality?
Burke's cardio... Callie's ortho....
I know Bailey's only a resident ... do residents not have specialities?

I had gotten the impression that she was just a general surgeon, there was one episode where meredith is talking about specialties on the voice over

yeah she is a general surgeon and the voiceover you're talking about is in the beginning of "Superstition"
greymold - March 27, 2007 06:32 PM (GMT)
thanks!
I remembered that voiceover, I guess I just didn't realize that general could be a specialitiy
and Callie's a resident, so obviously resident's can have specialities. dur

in season 2 Bailey and the chief talked about that she could get a speciality, but she was pregnant so she didn't do it! maybe she will get a speciality sometime...

McEline - March 27, 2007 10:30 PM (GMT)
hehe I got some information about it (I went to an university) but it's here totally different then in grey's so...
McRosa - March 28, 2007 09:19 AM (GMT)
Yeah, I always wondered about that..
MrsMcSteamy - August 20, 2007 05:40 AM (GMT)
Yes, Bailey and the chief are general surgeons.
Callie is an orthepedic surgeon.
These are both specialties.

i think you have to do a residency and a fellowship in general surgery first and then go back to school in specialize in something else and a fellowship is someone who shadows a doctor and sees the patient first but doesnt actully get to make decisions they have to show the doctor/attending first but i think its different and in the us cause im in canada
