Title: We Kiss In The Shadows
Description: Callie and an old med school friend...

Caddie_Is_Love - November 15, 2007 01:06 AM (GMT)
Okay, this is me tossing around a relationship (And I mean on-call room relationship) between Callie and a new doctor who was a friend of hers from med school named Sarah. I've been thinking about this storyline for a while (Sorry if it's a little teenager-ish; I AM a teenager :)) :

Callie and Sarah hadn't seen each other or even TALKED in about six years. They had gone to med school together and they had been... close. So imagine how surprised Callie was when she just SHOWED UP one day at Seattle Grace. She had THOUGHT she had seen her in the halls all day, but there was no way to be sure without a possible awkward moment.

So she pushed it to the back of her mind.

Unknown to Callie, someone followed her to the on-call room later that day. Sarah was almost POSITIVE that Callie had just walked into the on-call room, and she wanted to wait to make her move, prepare herself. Once she was ready, she walked in.

Callie THOUGHT she was in Lalaland when she heard a familiar, yet unfamiliar voice say, "I would know you ANYWHERE."

"Oh. My. God." Callie rolled sround, sat straight up and CLUNK! :hammer: Smacked her head! She looked up and saw a gorgeous brown-eyed, dark-haired Latina girl looking at her, a look of amusement on her face. "Are you seriously LAUGHING at me?" She was smiling as well. "What are you DOING here?"

"Well, I was feeling like I needed a change. All of a sudden, nobody would talk to me. NOBODY, in all of Mercy West would talk to me! So I came here. I remembered you telling me you got accepted into this residency program, and I came here."

Callie wondered why nobody would talk to Sarah. NOBODY could not talk to Sarah. It just didn't happen! She was a nice person to talk to, very loveable. She pushed that to the back of her mind so she could do what she wanted to.

She got up and moved closer to Sarah. Sarah returned the move. It started as a hug, then a single kiss. That one turned into many, each one stronger than the last. it got to the point where they were nearly on the bed, when BOTH their pagers went off.

"DAMMIT!" Callie had to hurry out to the ER, and Sarah went off to find the Chief to get instructions. She WAS a newbie, after all.

"I'll see you back here later, got it? I want to, I NEED to finish this up." Callie said as she went off to the ER. :doctor:

PLEASE don't bash this yet! It's only the first part. I'm not so good at the romance thing, sorry :)

Sara on Sarah action! Woo!

Mores?

Caddie_Is_Love - November 27, 2007 12:39 AM (GMT)
Lol :) I don't know how many more people have read this, but whatever. Here's more:

Once Callie was finally done for the day after that ambulance crash, she decided against her better judgement and went off looking fo rSarah, instead of doing the smarter thing and paging her. She wasn’t exactly thinking clearly at the time.

Sarah, in the meantime, was looking for CALLIE. Luckily, she didn’t have to look far. She spotted Callie just down the hall by the on-call room.

Callie was walking past the on-call room when she felt a hand on the back of her scrubs grab her and pull her through the door. The door shut behind her and she was thrown into a whirlwind of lips and hands. Stumbling backward, she groped for the door handle and locked it, shutting the world out.

“I had...forgotten...how....good...you were,” Callie panted into Sarah’s mouth. She was normally someone who didn’t like to be second, but having Sarah on top of her, planting kisses all along her chest and stomach, just was... amazing.

“Hey, whta time does your shift end tonight?” Callie asked. “Cause I was thinking we might be able to go out for a drink at Joe’s and catch up or something. My shift ends at eight.”

“Mine too! I’ll meet you outside at...say, eight fifteen...Oh SHIT!” Sarah’s pager had just gone off; she had to go.

Welllllllllllllllllllllllllll just because it is slow lately. When the place picks back up *glares at forum* I bet everyone will be reading it. :D

BUt yay for more for Cait!! WOO!

Caddie_Is_Love - December 2, 2007 02:56 AM (GMT)
You're so positive :) The forum HAS been slow lately… Here's more for ya!:

Later on, Sarah was in the locker room when she felt a tap on her shoulder.

“Hey, you ready to go? Cause I NEED a drink... or several.”

Sarah chuckled. Callie still had that… thing about her that made these lines funny. “Yeah. I need a drink too. First days are always the weirdest.”

“Amen to that.”

“...So you know, I was actually married AND divorced within the same year!” Callie was recounting her... less than successful relationship with George O’Malley under the influence of about three (Or was it more like six?) drinks.

“How’d you manage THAT?”

“Long story, I’ve drunk too much to explain right now.” Callie really didn’t feel like talking about George cheating on her with IZZIE FRICKING STEVENS. Sarah had a vague feeling she knew that name, she just couldn’t really think through the haze of alcohol.

“Hey, what do you say we go to my apartment? We can order in or something. Have a few more drinks where people won’t be witnesses, just…just in case.”

“Absolutely!”

“Alrightie then, let’s go.”

They stumbled into the apartment, both quite drunk.

“You know what? Forget the ordering in. Forget the FOOD.” Callie just wanted to be with Sarah.

“You read my mind! Bedroom’s this way.” They launched into a repeat episode of that afternoon, just more passionate, MUCH more passionate. And complete, VERY complete.

Sarah had forgotten how good CALLIE was, when she was in charge that is.

“You’re....Amazing!” It had been so LONG, too long.

The next morning, Callie woke up to find she had a hangover :coffee: and was in a bed that definitely wasn’t hers.

“Hey! You’re up! You might want to get up, cause we’re gonna be late.”

“Did we seriously...? Last night…?”

“Yeah. Too bad we were drunk,” Sarah said with a big grin on her face

“Yeah. Hey, we talked about MY relationship issues last night, but we didn’t talk about you. You seeing anyone?”

“Uhmmm....No. Not REALLY.” Sarah REALLY didn't want to talk about that. it was very…complicated. She was involved in a relationship she didn't want to be involved in any more.

“Not REALLY? What do you mean?”

“Nothing. It’s nothing to worry about. Hey, do you know Izzie Stevens well? She seems like a sweet person. She was chatting with me yesterday.”

Callie froze. Izzie Stevens? Sarah? Possible FRIENDS with Izzie Stevens? Oh SHIT. “Er, she’s…all right. I'm not a big fan of her, but whatever. If YOU like her, it's fine.”

Cait - December 2, 2007 03:42 AM (GMT)
Yay for “catching up”! :D :D

LMAO! Oo snap! Sara likes Izzie (er as a person) ! Owwiiiesss for Callie.

*waits for more*

PS, thanks for continuing this. I pretty much need constant entertainment. :P It’s very good.

Caddie_Is_Love - December 2, 2007 07:33 PM (GMT)
It's a lot of fun writing this, even IF you're the only one reading it :D
Chapter 3:

“Oh. OK. Hey, do you think this…us is is going to actually go anywhere this time?”

“There’s definite potential. But, I don’t really know what people would think. We probably shouldn’t go around advertising we had sex. Multiple times.” By this time, Callie had a big grin :D on her face. “Someone’s bound to have issues and then it’ll just be a pain in the ass.”

“All right. When we’re at the hospital, we’re friends. When we’re not…We’re what?”

Neither of them were sure how to answer that. They’d only been together for a day, so it wasn’t exactly a relationship yet.

“Hey, keep your cell phone on. I’ll text you…when I’m not busy.”

“Sarah, you’re SUCH a flirt!”

“You know you love it!”

They were coming up to the hospital now, laughing their asses off. Nobody would have expected they were flirting. It was just like old times.

Around 11:30 that morning, Callie paged her. Apparently, there was a patient down in the ER who was specifically requesting her, even though it was most likely going to be an ortho case where she was needed. Sarah had a nagging suspicion that this wasn’t going to be pretty.

She met Callie in the ER, where she got all the details.

“Marcus Collins, 27-year-old male, brought in with multiple injuries after what seemed to be a fight.” Callie sighed. “Looks like one of those stupid guys who thinks it’s all manly and crap to pick figths. Looks like he’s all yours, he wouldn’t let me TOUCH him. See you later.”

Sarah took ONE look at him and whipped around to se if Callie was still in earshot. She couldn’t treat THIS patient, just couldn’t. :?

“Sarah! Baby!” The patient recognized her from across the room.

“Oh crap. Why ME?” Sarah sighed. This wasn’t just ANY patient, this was her boyfriend, the guy who she couldn’t STAND, the guy who she wanted to leave but couldn’t.

She walked over to him, dreading it every step of the way.

“YOU don’t look too happy with me! Why don’t you come over here and drop one right here.” He was gesturing for her to plant one on his lips.

“Marcus, just shut up and let me treat you. I know I live with you and all, but you NEED to let me do my job. By the way, are you…are you DRUNK?”

“You loove it. You know you do!”

Sarah made a noise of disgust. “You, you need x-rays. I’ll order them ASAP. Then we’ll fix you up, and you can leave.”

Sarah was finishing up with Marcus, unaware that Callie was over in a doorway.

“All right, you can go. I’ll see you later.” Sarah turned around and let out an annoyed, disgusted sigh. He pissed her off MAJORLY.

“What was THAT all about?”

“There’s way too much to explain and I’m not going to, so don’t ask me anything. I’ll explain in due time.”

Cait - December 2, 2007 08:58 PM (GMT)
OMGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG

How is she going to explain this one?! Ooooooooooo!

*yay I love youuuuuuuuu!!!*

Caddie_Is_Love - December 2, 2007 10:02 PM (GMT)
You'll see (ish) riiiiggghhhhtttt…NOW! It's kind of short, but it's stopped where a new chapter will pick up:

Callie was getting suspicious. Was she seeing him, or was she seeing him but didn’t WANT to be? “Hey, you doing anything right now? Cause I’m free…Just in case.”

“And you’re calling ME a flirt?” Sarah chuckled “Yeah, I’ve got time.”

“Meet me in the 3rd-floor on-call room STAT. Just…not right after me. Don’t wanna raise suspiciooooons… ;)”

So Sarah decided to follow her, but not follow her, into the on-call room.

“Okay, let’s try this again, but with no alcohol, and no pagers.” Sarah exclaimed as she walked into the on-call room precisely six minutes and twenty-seven seconds later (Callie had timed her).

“I love the way you think, chica.” Sarah said, initiating everything. She may have been younger than Callie, but boy did she take charge! everything was going SO WELL, until…

“CALLIE? :o What the HELL?”

Sarah rolled off Callie so Callie could have a better look at who said her name. And there, on the top bunk, was a VERY disturbed George O’Malley

“George, I swear, if you say ANYTHING to ANYONE…I’ll make sure your residency is the worst thing that ever happened to you. Got it?” She said to him as she pulled her pants back on.

“Who was THAT?”

“THAT, Sarah, was my ex-husband.”

“Ooooooh, that sucks. That’s probably the one person you DON’T want knowing, huh?”

“Yeah, now let’s get out of here. It’s almost time to go anyway.”

“I have to spend the night with Marcus tonight. It's nothing against you though. I just have to. Will you come with me? Just…just make sure he doesn’t see you, OK?”

“OK, but WHY exactly can’t he see me?”

“There’s no telling what he’ll do.”

"Sarah, is there something going on that I should know about?"

*suspense*

I cant wait for more!!!!!!!!!

Caddie_Is_Love - December 2, 2007 10:25 PM (GMT)
Again, it's sorta short, but I can't jump around. I'm SO glad you like it!:

Callie was scared for Sarah. She had a nagging suspicion that something wasn’t right between Sarah and Marcus.

They arrived at his house, a shabby place in what could be called the “bad” part of town.

“If you can wait, I might come out, and if I do, it means I’ve successfully left . If I’m not out by, oh let’s say midnight, GET HELP.”

“HOLDIT! WHAT is going on here?”

“Just do it! Please, just do this for me.” Sarah knew what was more likely to happen, but she didn’t want to scare Callie even more. She had that look of someone who’s being held hostage at gunpoint.

“Sarah? Is that you?” A drunken voice yelled from inside the house. “Get in here! NOW!”

Even in the dim light, Callie could see Sarah’s eyes go from scared to furious, like there was a storm brewing.

So she waited. Callie went to the side of the house and waited. Suddenly, she heard an outburst from inside the house, but she couldn’t make it out. Suddenly, the door opened and slammed, and several people ran out, Sarah in front. Marcus was right behind her, yelling,

“You think you can just up and LEAVE me? You’re MINE, bitch! MINE! You hear?”

He yelled for his buddies to follow him, and they all took off after Sarah. callie pulled out her cell phone and called for help while SHE took off running. Sarah needed help. She needed help, and FAST.

She followed them to an alleyway where she suddenly heard slams and cries and blows being exchanged. It only took a few minutes before all of those guys came strolling out like nothing had happened. Marcus was the last. Before he left, he spat on the ground and said:

“THAT should teach you NEVER to mess with ME!”

It was then that Callie heard the sirens. She let out a huge sigh. She had backup, Sarah had help. There was no telling what they could have done to her. There were four of them. Sure, one had a broken wrist, but there were still four. Callie just couldn't BELIEVE what had just unfolded right in front of her.

Here's another chapter! It's short, but there's more coming!:

Sarah was waking up from what felt like a deep sleep. She had no idea where she was, but she saw Callie next to her, looking like shit and stroking her hair. She looked like she had been crying. :sob: The next thing she noticed was the pain. She hurt ALL OVER.

“Wha...What’d he do?” She asked in a weak voice.

“A lot. They knocked you out for two days so they could fix everything. Those couple of broken bones-Fixed by me. They’re all good.”

“Good. Have you gotten ANY sleep?”

“Not too much,” Callie sheepishly admitted. “I was worried! You were in awful shape.”

“Well now that we know I’m fine, go get some sleep.”

“You sure”

“YES. You need to be able to function.”

A couple of days later, Sarah was MUCH better. She had been moved out of ICU and was recovering at a nice quick pace. She wanted to get back to work, but she couldn’t, not quite yet.

“…So, you’re not missing TOO much. Things have actually been pretty slow, for once.” Callie was leaning against the door frame and chatting with her. It was late, and Callie wasn’t on call, but Sarah thought it was really sweet that she would hang out and just talk forever, instead of going home and sleeping.

“Oh, I forgot to tell you. Since I’m also your doctor I get to tell you that you’re being discharged tomorrow! BUT, you can’t come back to work for another week.” :doctor:

“DAMMIT! At least I can go HOME. It really sucks not being able to cut people open when I’m here.”

“Yes! Yes! YES! I’m back baby!” Sarah had FINALLY been cleared for surgery by her doctorS, of which Callie was one, and boy was she glad!

“And thank GOD for that, you’ve been nagging me all week!” Callie laughed, giving her a playful swat on the arm.

“Ooooh, I can’t WAIT to cut someone open! I need to!”

“And I can’t wait to go to the on-call room!”

“Callie, you’re so weird! Anyhoo, I want to ask you something later.”

“All right. How about lunch?”

“Yeah. Lunch’ll work out, hopefully. See you then.”

“I’m SURE I’ll be seeing you before then.”

Sarah chuckled. Callie could be a real flirt sometimes.

Their little “lunch date” worked out. Sarah and Callie found a table in a corner, since their little “fling” was supposed to be a secret.

“Hey. What did you want to ask me?”

“Check in the right pocket of my lab coat and you’ll see.”

Callie reached in and pulled out a key.

“Are you asking me…”

“To move in with me?”

“As…”

“A couple. Yes.”

“Uh, YEAH!”

“That’s awesome!” Sarah gave Callie a big hug. She was so happy that they would finally be living together.

“I’ll try and be out of Yang’s by the end of the week.”

Izzie Stevens was eating with George and Meredith when she spotted Callie and that new girl, Sarah, sitting in the corner, discussing something. She had a bad feeling about that. God only knew what they were talking about.

Sarah also noticed Izzie looking at them. She hoped she wouldn’t suspect anything.

Callie was packing up her stuff at Cristina’s apartment when Cristina asked the question Callie had hoped she wouldn’t ask.

“So, exactly where are you gonna be living?”

“I…got an apartment.” Callie was telling Cristina as close to the truth as possibly possible. She didn’t want anyone to know, and she bet Sarah didn’t either.

“That’s the last of it, I’m pretty sure.” Callie said as she brought her last box into the apartment.

“Awesome! Now come here,” Sarah beckoned Callie over and brought her in for a kiss. “I’m so glad you decided to move in.” She kissed her once, and Callie felt herself melt into her. How exactly was it that Sarah could be the age of an intern, but steal her heart all the same?

Caddie_Is_Love - January 3, 2008 12:43 AM (GMT)
This is a new-ish story I like to call "Always On Your Side."
Babies.

“So, do you think we have enough room in here for a little Christmas tree?” Callie and Sarah were decorating the apartment. At 11:00 at night, since they had both worked their asses off at work that day.

“Probably, if it’s a little fake one. You can’t get ‘apartment’ sized real ones, which basically sucks. I love that smell.

“Me too.” Callie said with a chuckle. “We could always spray the fake one with air freshener!”

“That would actually be pretty funny. Where can we get one of those fake little trees?”

“At 11 at night? Not many places.”

Sarah laughed. “Yeah, right now probably wouldn’t be the best time to get one. You tired?”

“Getting there, but not quite.”

“Then come here,” Sarah plopped down on the couch and beckoned for Callie to join her. “We’re watching ‘Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer.’”

“Sounds good. Do you know how long it’s been since I’ve seen any of those corny Christmas specials?” Callie loved those and had missed them.

“Then come here.” Callie made her way over, stepping gingerly over the Christmas decorations everywhere. She curled up next to Sarah, who put her head on Callie’s side with her arm behind her.

The movie had been running for about five minutes when Sarah suddenly felt nauseous. She got up and bolted to the bathroom. This had happened about four times earlier in the day. She had an awful, nagging suspicion that this was more than a flu or something. It hasd happened before, when she was seventeen.

Callie had a worried tone to her voice “Sarah? You Okay?”

“No.” Sarah was close to tears. She opened the door and came out. “No, I’m not. Do you think any drugstore is open this late?”

“Probably not. We can stop on the way to work in the morning, though.” Callie thought it was best to not ask any more questions. “You just want to go to bed?”

“Yeah. We can finish this some other time. I’m really sorry.”

“That’s FINE, you kidding me?”

The next morning, Sarah told Callie to wait outside the drugstore; she had to run in and get something. Callie was beginning to wonder if something was going on…

At the first sign that the hospital was slowing down, Sarah ducked off into a bathroom and pulled something from her lab coat. It was a pregnancy test.

Callie was down the hall and she saw Sarah go in, taking something out of her pocket. She decided to linger to see if Sarah would tell her what was up. She saw her come out several minutes later looking dumbfounded. She passed Callie and said, “Don’t ask. Not here. Later.”

Callie finally caught Sarah in a supply closet.

“OK, you’re trapped. Why did you come out of the bathroom with that…’look’ on your face?”

“These things aren’t always right, right? I mean…RIGHT?” There was a panicked tome to Sarah’s voice. “This just can’t be happening, not with him.”

“WHOA! I have no idea what you’re talking about! What are you talking about, anyway?”

“The stick! I peed on the damn stick!”

“What’s the…”

“Positive. I’m pregnant.” Sarah burst into tears. “This just CAN’T be happening to me again! It just can’t!” Callie was dumbfounded. “Who?”

“Marcus.” This just made Sarah cry even harder. “And now I don’t know what to do!”

“We’ll figure it out; don’t worry.” The only thing Callie could think of to do was to hold Sarah and let her cry on her shoulder. “It’ll be all right.”

“You mean…You mean you’ll stay?”

“Do I seem like the type who would leave my girlfriend because she’s pregnant?” Callie said, giving her an extra squeeze.

“No, no you don’t; I just didn’t know what to expect. Ugh! I really don’t know what I want to do with the baby.”

“We don’t have to decide just yet. There’s still nine more months to decide that.”

“I love you so much, you know that?”

“And I love you. It fits.”

Caddie_Is_Love - January 9, 2008 09:56 PM (GMT)
More is right here! Callie/Sarah happiness…I love it :D

“Well, would you look at that?” Sarah and Callie were at the first doctor’s visit for the baby. They had decided to keep the baby and do the best they could raising it, since they had both wanted one anyway. “It’s our baby.”

Callie leaned in to give Sarah a kiss. “Our baby. You crying again?”

“Yeah.” Sarah said, giving a hearty sniff. This time, she was having a baby with someone who she knew would be able to raise it with her, and raise it well.

“You happy you came back for this Addison?”

“My friend is happy and in love *again*, of course I am.” The redheaded doctor said with a grin. She had come back to Seattle at Callie’s request; she had wanted Addison to check the baby for the first time, since she didn’t quite trust the other OBGYNs at the hospital. She didn’t want their little “secret” out to the hospital JUST yet.

Callie smiled and put a hand on Sarah’s shoulder. “We are. Yes we are.”

Just then, Sarah’s pager went off. “Dammit! I’ve gotta go. 911. Nice meeting you Addison.”She dashed out of the room.

“She’s awesome! No offense, but she is better than O’Malley by a LONG shot.”

“I’m glad you approve,” Callie chuckled “It was so nice getting the chance to know her again.”

“Again?”

“We met when we were in med school. We were roommates and friends.”

“Friends? Were you ever…more than friends?”

“Yeah, eventually. We were drunk, and things just…happened.”

“Wow. That’s as juicy as the whole ‘Derek and Addison get married, Addison sleeps with Derek’s best friend,’ you know the rest.”

“I’ve got a feeling this is gonna last longer than George and I did, that’s for sure.”

“Yeah. NO sleeping with Stevens here.” Callie gave her a look, as if to say, How did you know? “What? EVERYBODY could see! Oooh, sorry,” she hastily added, seeing Callie’s face fall sudddenly. She knew how Callie hated being the last to know anything. “It doesn’t matter now, you’re HAPPY, that’s what’s important..”

Here's more. It's short, but there's a really long one on deck :P

Later that night, at home, Sarah plopped down next to Callie and let out a huge sigh. “You know that page I got earlier?”

Callie nodded.

“He came in last night, appendix burst, all of that. He got surgery, he was fine. I got paged because he had gone all psychotic and ripped out his stitches! By the time I got there, there was already a BITCH of an infection there! So he needed surgery AGAIN!”

“Oooh, sounds like fun.” Callie leaned in while at the same time, pressing a button on the remote she hasd behind her. “Will a kiss make it better?”

As they kissed, a song came on the stereo behind them. It was “Annie’s Song” by John Denver, and it was Sarah’s all-time favorite.

Callie got up. “Dance with me?”

Sarah took her hand and Callie pulled her in close. As they swayed slowly to the music, they listened to John Denver’s smooth voice sing words of love:

You fill up my senses like a night in the forest,
like the mountains in springtime, like a walk in the rain,
like a storm in the desert, like a sleepy blue ocean.
You fill up my senses, come fill me again.

Come let me love you, let me give my life to you,
let me drown in your laughter, let me die in your arms,
let me lay down beside you, let me always be with you.
Come let me love you, come love me again.

And, at that moment, with Callie’s arms around her, Sarah felt, no, she knew, that that song was the way they felt about each other. Or at least, that’s what she THOUGHT.

Caddie_Is_Love - January 12, 2008 01:00 AM (GMT)
All rightie, I had to do this sometime and you know it. BUT, on the bright side, I wrote an Izzie Stevens monologue-y type thing! :rockstar:

“Hey, so what’s up with you and Torres?” Izzie had cornered Sarah in the lunchroom “You…friends? Or…what?”

“We’ve been friends since med school, what do you EXPECT?”

“Well, I don’t know. It just seems like you’re…something.”

“Izzie, you’re my friend. There are just some things that remain unspoken. That’s it.”

“You DO know that she and I, we’re not exactly the best of friends. All I’m saying is that…er…things are tense.” Sarah had no idea that it was IZZIE who slept with George and broke Callie’s heart.

“Izzie, there is nothing else going on! You’re overreacting to a simple friendship!”

“Who said I was overreacting? I’m just SAYING-”

“Izzie, fine. You’re not making this any easier. Callie…she’s more than just my ‘friend’.”

“What are you saying?”

“She and I…we’re…”

“Ah. I see. Well, that’’s fine by me.”

She walked out, and Sarah wondered if telling Izzie was the right thing to do. All of a sudden, herr pager went off. She paged Dr. O’Malley, who was assigned to her for the day, but he didn’t meet her in the ER.

Once the guy had been admitted, she went off looking for her intern.

“Hey, if I’m lookingfor an intern, where’s the best place to start looking?” she asked Nurse Debbie, who was hanging out at the nurses’ station.

“On-call room. Interns have a nasty habit of landing there.” she responded, clearly annoyed that she had been interrupted.

Sarah walked down the hall to the on-call room. She opened the door, saying, “O’Malley, when I page you, you ANSWER i-” She stopped short at the sight before her. Callie Torres and George O’Malley were in the room, on the bed. Sarah just stood there for a minute, her mouth open, at what she saw.

“I-I…Dr. TORRES? UH, sorry, I’ll leave you to your…business.” She walked away, absolutely and utterly stunned. She turned and said over her shoulder, “But I still want you in Trauma Room 1 in 10 minutes Dr. O’Malley!”

Callie sat up, tears in her eyes.

“We shouldn’t have done that. We really shouldn’t have.” She started pulling her clothes on haphazardly, repeating that phrase over and over. She had no idea what this meant. Sure, she still loved Sarah. But what did that mean for the two of them? Callie had done it once before, and here she was doing it again.

George sat there after he watched Callie leave in a hurry, in a state of complete and utter confusion.

“Why did she leave so fast?” He wondered out loud. There was some sort of look on Sarah’s face that said she was more than just shocked at their little…’meeting.’

Sarah stormed into the break room an hour later. Her emergency patient had died before they could get him to surgery and she had just walked in on her girlfriend having sex with her ex-husband. Overall, today was just NOT going well.

Callie walked into the room and stopped short at who she found in there.

“Sarah, I swear it was…”

“It was what? Nothing? Because having sex with your ex-husband; your ex-husband, Callie, doesn’t seem like ‘nothing’ to me.”

“I…I…” Callie had no idea how to explain why she had been in bed with George. Even she didn’t know.

“I can’t be with you if you keep breaking my heart like this!”

“How…What?”

“You did this to me back when we were in school. And you’ve just done it again!”

“You’re completely overreacting!”

“NO, I’m not! Look, when I met you, you were my first ‘serious’ relationship. I was forced to grow up too fast. I never had any serious boyfriends or girlfriends because of the age differences! And both times you’ve cheated on me! How am I supposed to be able to raise a baby with you if you’re going to keep doing this?”

“I…I just don’t know. I’m just finding out about the ‘serious relationship’ thing, and now I feel AWFUL. I just…I can’t do this right now.” Callie turned around and walked out of the room in tears, leaving Sarah back in the room, also in tears.

“You and Callie have a fight?” Izzie said matter-of-factly, coming in and pouring a cup of coffee.

“Yeah. I’m SUCH a social retard. You know, I skipped six or seven grades in school. I started fifth grade at the age of like, six. Fifth grade! I’ve never had a relationship that was one where I would even consider spending my life with the person. Then Callie came along. And now…I just don’t know.” And she started crying.

Izzie didn’t know what to say. She wasn’t a huge fan of Callie Torres, but it was clear that Sarah had fallen very hard for her. All of a sudden, she realized that this was Callie and George all over again, except it was Callie who was in the “George” position, George who was in the “Izzie” position, and Sarah who was in the “Callie” position. She was seeing firsthand what she had done to Callie.

“Oh my God. I have to go.” Izzie walked out of the room, intent on finding Callie.

“Callie. Hey.”

She was ignored.

“Callie, I get it. I get that we screwed up. George and I, it’s over. We thought we had something, but…we didn’t.”

“Is that all you came here for? To tell me that it’s over between you two? Because believe me, I’m over him and I don’t care.”

“You didn’t let me finish. Sarah was just in the break room, crying her eyes out over you, and I saw what George and I did, well, of course I did, but that’s not the point. The point is, that hurt you, badly. And we’re sorry about that. But looking at what you and George did, I realized that you did to her what George did to you. I’m not preaching or anything, but if you could see her now…If you really love her, you’ll go back.”

Callie stopped short at Izzie’s words. Was it possible that she was right? Had Callie just done what George did to her? If she had felt that way then, was Sarah feeling that way now? She couldn’t think about that.

Here you go! It's short, yet AGAIN. Meredith and Izzie are in this too :P

Sarah came home to find Callie gone. Sarah didn’t want to forgive Callie; she didn’t know if she could. It was that simple. Callie felt horrible about what she had done, seriously, but she felt like Sarah needed time. In the meantime, she had moved in with Meredith, Alex, and Izzie; or at least into their living room.

They would pass in the hallways and walk right by. People were starting to take notice that these two “best friends” were hardly speaking.

“Hey, are you okay?” Meredith asked Sarah as she sat down next to Izzie in the cafeteria. “I heard about you and Callie.”

“You WHAT?” Sarah was almost panicking. She thought Izzie had told people they were together. “What did you TELL her?” She whipped around to face Izzie.

“Nothing.”

Sarah gave her a Look.

Izzie rolled her eyes and assured Sarah, “It was just Meredith. And trust me, SHE knows about screwy relationships.”

"Hey!" That came from Meredith

“Izzie, if you tell anyone else, I SWEAR…”

“You’ll kick my ass. I get it. Hey, did you know Mer here let Callie move in?”

“WHAT?!”

Meredith, who had been watching this whole exchange, jumped in, “Yeah. She’s sleeping on the couch. What?” She exclaimed when she saw Sarah’s face,”We couldn’t just say no![I]”

“I never said I had a problem with that! Now, let’s STOP talking about my issues and actually EAT something. I’m starving.”

And there was no more conversation after that. It was [I]very
clear that Sarah didn't want to talk about Callie anymore. But that didn't stop Izzie.

"You know, you haven't called her names or badmouthed her yet. Are you sure you're OK?"

"Izzie…"

"OK, OK, I'll shut up!"

And heeeeeeere's more! This took me like, an entire study hall to write. I hope you like :) It's one of my favorite scenes :doctor:

Callie had been living on Meredith Grey’s couch for what, three weeks now? She and Sarah hadn’t been speaking, hadn’t been operating together, hadn’t been seen together at all. She still felt awful, but she had been thinking about what Izzie said to her; she had been for the past three weeks! For once, Izzie may have said something right.

Sarah also felt horrible about not forgiving Callie. There were many times when she thought of paging her to the on-call room or somewhere else private to just hold her and tell her that all was forgiven. But she didn’t. She wasn’t sure if Callie would do this to her again. And she didn’t want that happening again, especially now that she was having a baby.

But Callie knew she wouldn’t do it again anytime soon. But Sarah still refused to talk to her. The only way to talk to her would be when she was least expecting it.

That night, Sarah went to bed, same as usual.

Callie stood outside the door for hours, trying to work up the nerve to go in. Sarah hadn’t asked her to hand over the key, so that was a good sign. It wasn’t until almost 1 in the morning that she worked up the nerve to go in. Why was she so nervous?

Callie opened the door, careful not to make too much noise, and walked to the bedroom door, which was open. She stopped in the doorway and looked at Sarah’s sleeping figure, glad she was there. She walked in and laid down next to her.

Sarah stirred, feeling someone lay down beside her. She thought she knew who it was, but pretended to still be asleep.

“First off, I don’t think you’re really asleep.”

Sarah rolled over. “You got me.”

“I just came here to say this: When I saw you in the on-call room for the first time in six years, I thought that some…divine being or something had given me a second chance with you. That I even deserved a second chance, I’m not quite sure. I screwed up again; I hurt you again.” Callie had to stop for a minute to regain her composure “If you don’t want to let me try again, I completely get that. But I just want to say that I don’t just love you; I think I’m in love with you.”

That apology was the most sincere, heartfelt thing Sarah had ever heard. So she did the only thing she could think to do. She sat up and kissed Callie. Callie kissed her back, and all was right with the world. Callie didn’t know how she’d let Sarah know what she hasd found out earlier that day. She didn’t know how to break the news to Sarah that somehow, she had ended up pregnant with George’s baby.
