Well firstly Good Luck im sure they will be great and i cant wait to see some that you've made! :D :claps:
I use Adobe photoshop and i luv it but its not the only program!

And the best way is just to experiment! Thats what i did!

I think most of the people here use photoshop... I'm not that good in making fan art but I'm trying! I don't know if I can help you with anything... If you don't have photoshop, you can find some trials at the internet! (I'm using a trial too) there you can also read how it works... If you have any problems, just ask! I (or somebody who has more experience) can help you!

btw, the first time I used photoshop, I just picked a simple picture and tried a lot of buttons for what kind of effect it has! Good luck and have fun with making your own art!

it also has brushes, fonts, textures and gradients free for download.

lol I just use Paint because I don't have any fancy photoshop software. they're too confusing for me anyway lol but if you go to Lennizabeth's thread she gives a Paint tutorial. that's how I learned some creative ideas.
