Title: JOBS.
joshgalassi23 - June 25, 2008 04:39 PM (GMT)
Does everyone here have a job? If so, where do you work?
I JUST started looking for my first job yesterday...yes, I'm 17 and a little behind on the whole job/car/license thing but whatever. Anyway, I had no idea I would be so freaking nervous just looking for them, lol!
inmymcdreams - June 25, 2008 04:44 PM (GMT)
I'll be 18 in a few weeks with a high school diploma and I have never had a job nor do I have my license (both are going to change - next few weeks?). And you think you're a little behind! lol.
It's so hard for me to find them anyway because I can only have them for a few months until college. BUT I did put in an application for the best store ever Target not too long ago. Might end up working at the grocery store or Walmart! One of my cousins works at Wally World and thinks it's a ok!
joshgalassi23 - June 25, 2008 04:49 PM (GMT)
YESSS! I love Wally World! I wanted to apply there but the only thing they were looking for was someone to work in uhm Home & Graden, lmao.
So far I have applications for the movie theater, Borders, and Kmart. I'm REALLY hoping I get the job either at the theater or Borders. Kmart was just a back-up for me....plus no one goes to Kmart here so it would probably be way boring.
Cait - June 25, 2008 06:08 PM (GMT)
Borders would be WAY awesome!!!
Well... I have both a license and a job. It's just an office deal, I basically stamp papers all day and clear people for discharge from the Warrior program (um it's like for soldiers wounded overseas who aren't able to do their job as well as before due to medical reasons, they stay in until they are cleared for duty again) and assign them a new platoon (but my boss thing tells me where to send them; I don't get to decide, LOL). The pay is sweet since it's on the military base. But I've worked my share of crap jobs, such as Applebees (hell on earth), a dog kennel, and a gas station (also hell on earth). I also babysit whenever someone in my dad's office needs it.
Caddie_Is_Love - June 25, 2008 06:44 PM (GMT)
I'm 14, so I don't even have my PERMIT, but I do have something of a job!
I babysit for this family who has a 11-year-old and a 4-year-old occasionally and once summer gets into full swing, I'll be babysitting for a teacher at my school's baby daughter :D
McEline - June 25, 2008 06:49 PM (GMT)
well last year I worked in the restaurant of a primate park... but this year I just babysit a lot, like tomorrow from 10.30 am till 6 pm! I have about 5 families I babysit for, the children between the age of 1.5 and 10 years. anyways, I prefer babysitting because if you go away for a day you can just say you can't... and about a license, I can't get one till I'm 18, but because it's REALLY expensive, I don't think I'm going to get one anytime soon (because college starts in September and that's expensive too)
Caddie_Is_Love - June 25, 2008 07:27 PM (GMT)
I have vowed never to work in a fast-food joint :) RANDOM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Mactilda - June 26, 2008 05:02 PM (GMT)
Well fastfood joint is my crap-job :)
I've worked at McDonalds..... Husband worked at Burger King :) That we have all kinds of diplomas and degrees now doesn't matter to our son. He's so proud of his parents that has worked at McD and BK :)
joshgalassi23 - June 26, 2008 05:13 PM (GMT)
Awwwwwwwwwwwwww hahaha.
Yeah if I don't get called back to any of the stores I originally applied for, I might just apply for some FF joints myself, lol.
Caddie_Is_Love - June 27, 2008 01:35 PM (GMT)
I would be like, "Nope, not working" if I had to wrk at any of those places :P I find much of the food nasty nasty.
Mactilda - June 27, 2008 01:46 PM (GMT)
Well I didn't have much of a choice..... I was pregnant and needed a job to support myself..... You do what you have to do.
Caddie_Is_Love - June 27, 2008 01:53 PM (GMT)
Yeah, I can see that. I actually told my parents a couple years ago that my dream was to work at Starbucks while trying to get acting jobs :P
inmymcdreams - June 28, 2008 02:23 AM (GMT)
Starbucks shouldn't be too bad of a place to work, at least you wouldn't come home smelling like grease!
At college orientation today, we played this game where someone would ask questions and if they applied to you, you would step forward; they asked, "If you have a job." I was the only one who didn't. lol.
joshgalassi23 - June 28, 2008 05:42 AM (GMT)
AHAHAHA poor Cinny! Aren't you getting that job at Wally World?
Well, I stepping up with the job huntage. Tomorrow I will be applying to be a dishwasher at some restaurant...although I'm still hoping that the people at the movie theater call me back.
inmymcdreams - June 29, 2008 03:16 AM (GMT)
hahah Well, now that I finally have two weeks of "free" time so unless I get any better offers for say, Target, then yes.
GOODLUCKAGE! I wish there was a theater close enough to my house to apply to one! :)
Caddie_Is_Love - June 29, 2008 03:40 PM (GMT)
Good luck to the both of yuz!
joshgalassi23 - June 30, 2008 09:28 PM (GMT)
^ Thank ya, thank ya! Tomorrow I go in to "go over and figure out a schedule" which I'm pretty sure I got the job lol. I'm gonna be a dishwasher at this restaurant woowoo. Gotta start somewhere i guess, lol.

They'll ask you about this job all the time when you're famous. heehee.
joshgalassi23 - July 1, 2008 05:51 AM (GMT)
LMAO thank you guys! And oh yes...when I uhm...become famous for.....something LOL. I was all excited but am now starting to get a little nervous. A friend of mine was telling me how some of the people can be little bitches sometimes if you don't have dat shit cleaned yo. haha. oh well I am pretty tough! I can do this, I can do this...
Caddie_Is_Love - July 3, 2008 05:12 PM (GMT)
You can do this, you can do this… :) YOU CAN DOOO ITTTT!
joshgalassi23 - July 11, 2008 08:37 PM (GMT)
Woot will be going on Day 3 of working come Monday. It's pretty easy, but still...you have to go fast and I usually have a pretty slow work ethic so its kind of a challenge, but hey - at least I'm getting paid for it. The only sucky thing is that I don't have TOO many hours. He probably only has be down for like 10ish hours a week....I need as many as I can get because I'm supposed to be saving for this trip I'm taking in April that is EXPENSIVE.
McEline - July 11, 2008 09:59 PM (GMT)
where do you wanna go on your trip?
I think I should be saving too... I'll probably need lots and lots of money next year but well... instead I do nothing at all
joshgalassi23 - July 11, 2008 10:54 PM (GMT)
^ I'm gonna be going to Peru. I think its like 3,000$ to go which is quite a bit to me, lol. I have a plan for saving money for it, it's just I have to be working enough to make the amount I plan on saving lol. I'm super stoked to be going though!
LexieGrey - July 11, 2008 11:05 PM (GMT)
At the mo I work for Hollywood Video but I'm moving in 2 weeks so...have to find a new job.
joshgalassi23 - July 12, 2008 01:54 AM (GMT)
^ SARA! What, where are you moving to?
McEline - July 12, 2008 01:27 PM (GMT)
Peru must be great! one of my friends went there last summer, she had such an amazing time!
Cait - July 12, 2008 08:08 PM (GMT)
Glad the job's not running you ragged, Josh! :D I bet they'll bump your hours the longer you're there. Plus it never hurts to "help" when someone else has an emergency or just plain doesn't want to go into work for whatever reason. When I worked at a gas station that's how I picked up extra hours, lazy coworkers!!! LMAO
