Gone, Heigl, Gone?

Is Katherine Heigl dead to the producers of Grey's Anatomy?

Maybe.

Latest buzz hissing from the set of the ABC hit is that creator Shonda Rhimes may be entertaining the idea of killing off Heigl's Dr. Isobel "Izzie" Stevens because of the now infamous remarks Heigl made about the upcoming Emmys.

Lest you forget, Heigl took herself out of the running for this year's Emmy race because she felt the writers failed to give her enough good material to work with last season.

"It's not good there," a source tells me of the Grey's Anatomy set. "Shonda is pissed. They're thinking of killing her off. They want Izzie dead."

While a dead Izzie may never happen, it would be an ironic twist, because industry insiders have long speculated that Heigl wants to ditch the show.

Going public with her Emmy complaint only increased speculation that she wants out of her contract to focus on her red-hot film career. Heigl may have picked up an Emmy last year, but since then she's become a box-office golden girl with flicks like Knocked Up and 27 Dresses.

A rep for Rhimes said, "I haven't heard anything about that." Reps for Heigl and ABC declined to comment.

IT NEVER ENDSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!! Jesus Christ, can we just get over it? Last I heard a few cast members were like "It was taken out of context, everyone decides whether they want to be nominated or not". And if they are on the bandwagon then how far can Shonda go without stepping on THEIR toes as well? At least with Isaiah everyone else had a problem with him. It *seems* that the rest of the cast is still behind Heigl.

I hope they wouldn't KILL her... Although... Dude... No MAJOR character has died... None of the originals... Sure, Burke and Addie left, but they didn't DIE. I know lots of TV shows like to throw in an original cast member's death and it being a drama *really* doesn't beg for going off the beaten path. I would cry a river and then probably drop the show if she died, and that's just being honest. It's petty if the ONLY reason they are ditching her character is because she's a bit too honest/outspoken than the writers would like. Besides, Shonda doesn't decide anything for sure. The producers tell the writers what to write. If they don't want Izzie dead then it won't happen. If she DOES want to leave, and who knows, then I can see it happening.

Maybe if someone admitted that their writing slipped while taking on too much we could avoid all of this crap. And if someone else learned how to keep some things quiet. WHY CAN'T WE ALL JUST GET ALONG?!

Also... WHY can't we get any more statements about this? From any one. Nothing more from Katie and nothing at all from Shonda after all the hooplah. A few statements from PD and CW in defense, but.

PS... No one piss of Shonda, she will toss you out on your ass.

Even though I'm still not a huge fan of Izzie, I wouldn't like it AT ALL if she died! I would be mad!
