Title: Season 5 Grey's Dish
joshgalassi23 - July 11, 2008 09:42 PM (GMT)
Ausiello was a little generous this last week with all the Grey's dish!
Question: I’ve got a burning Grey’s Anatomy question leftover from your TV Guide days: Which of those season finale smooches was the “major kiss no one would see coming” that Shonda Rhimes alluded to? — Denise
Ausiello: Well, contrary to popular belief, she was not referring to Mer/Der’s candlelit trailer park pucker. As Rhimes tells me, although she feels all of the kisses featured in the episode “were worth leaning into the television for,” the one she felt was the most surprising “was Alex and Izzie. But my personal favorite is Bailey kissing Baby Tuck." I tend to agree with her. About Alex/Izzie. The Bailey/Tuck lip-lock was just awright for me.
Question: Is loose-lipped Katherine Heigl still employed at Grey’s Anatomy? Janice
Ausiello: She showed up to this season’s first table read last week, so it looks like it. Oh, to be a fly on that wall.
Question: Got anything new on Grey’s? Please tell me they’ve gotten rid of Rose! — Michelle
Ausiello: Nope, she (i.e. Lauren Stamile) was at the table read, too! And as my buddy Mitovich at TVGuide.com is reporting, she was doing what she does best: stirring up trouble!
Question: Please make my week by spilling anything you know about the Shonda Rhimes-penned two-hour Grey's season premiere. — Becca
Ausiello: There will be a slight time lapse between the finale and the premiere. We’re talking more than a few days and less than a month.
Question: I'm dying for some Grey's scoop, specifically related to Callie and Erica. — Emily
Ausiello: There’s a rumor going around that Callie will start off the season with a little McSteamy in the oven, but a reliable Grey’s insider insists it’s “not true.” That begs the question: Does a denial of scoop qualify as scoop itself? Discuss in the comments section below.

ROSE IS RETURNING. DUN DUN DUN.
Cait - July 12, 2008 07:20 AM (GMT)
Well of course Rose has to come back! It can't be THAT easy.
YAY I win, time jump! I called that.
And oh yes... To be a fly on that wall. Could you imagine?
McEline - July 13, 2008 12:43 PM (GMT)
ok this is what I found on grey's gabble:
According to E! Online Dr Stevens maybe on her last legs.
” Latest buzz hissing from the set of the ABC hit is that creator Shonda Rhimes may be entertaining the idea of killing off Heigl’s Dr. Isobel “Izzie” Stevens because of the now infamous remarks Heigl made about the upcoming Emmys.
“It’s not good there,” a source tells me of the Grey’s Anatomy set. “Shonda is pissed. They’re thinking of killing her off. They want Izzie dead.
A rep for Rhimes said, “I haven’t heard anything about that.” Reps for Heigl and ABC declined to comment.”
Also according to Ausiello Sources on EW’s AusielloTV premiere an unnamed cast member sent Shonda a gorgeous bouquet of flowers to cheer her up and to attempt to assure her that most of the Grey’s cast do appreciate her.
McEline - July 13, 2008 12:46 PM (GMT)
ok and something else... I don't know I should make a new topic for this, so well I'll just post it here...
According to TVGuide.com the new Scottish doc heading to Seattle Grace has got eyes only for Cristina. Read the story below:
“ABC is not officially confirming the news yet, but reliable sources tell me that Rome-ing Journeyman Kevin McKidd has just signed on the dotted line to join ABC’s Grey’s Anatomy for its upcoming season.
Playing a surgeon who arrives at Seattle Grace fresh from a tour of duty in Iraq, McKidd will first be (barely) glimpsed during the two-hour season premiere. McKidd’s character, by some accounts, ultimately will play doctor with Cristina, who has been nursing a broken heart and a seriously bruised ego ever since you-know-who didn’t stop talking skedaddled out of Seattle a season ago.
joshgalassi23 - July 13, 2008 04:58 PM (GMT)
OK the whole Izzie getting killed off has me intrigued. Will they REALLY do it???
And finally, Cristina gets a new love bird! w00t!
Ixlovexmcdreamy - July 13, 2008 08:51 PM (GMT)
they best not kill off izzie..
and im sooo excited to see Cristina with a new man!! :) i hope it works out for herrrrr
Cait - July 14, 2008 07:04 AM (GMT)
If they kill off Izzie I'm done. What a bunch of petty crap. I'm just being honest here. (Oh wait, Shonda, please don't kill off Cait for speaking her mind! OMG!)
But! I like McKidd (how great is his last name!?) for Cristina... YAYNESS!!!!!!!!
Caddie_Is_Love - July 14, 2008 03:38 PM (GMT)
LMAO :)
I say that that baby "denial" is just covering it up. CALLIE IS PREGNANT.
joshgalassi23 - July 16, 2008 11:29 PM (GMT)
More goods, this time from Kristin from E! Online:
Izzie Lives! For Now! According to McPherson, Katherine Heigl is still very much in the mix over at Grey's Anatomy, and Izzie won't be offed anytime soon. In fact, he promised, "She is absolutely staying with the show. She has an unbelievable storyline for her this year, which is really central to everything that is going to go on this season. Shonda is really excited about that; she’s the one who actually crafted that." OK, I don't know about you, but I really want said storyline to involve the daughter Izzie gave up for adoption. And Alex.
Cait - July 17, 2008 06:01 PM (GMT)
YESSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!! OMG JOSH I LOVE YOUUUUUUUUUUU!

UNBELIEVABLE?!?! I CAN'T WAIT!
Cait - July 17, 2008 11:10 PM (GMT)
I just heard a little somethin' somethin' from a friend who is a Grey's fan on my rat forum... She's like "I hear Izzie is going to have a brain tumor?!"
http://cdn.emmys.tv/awards/2008pte/60thpte_nomswin.php#1Is what I got.
OMG DENNY IS COMING BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Regardless, there’s some good - and actually confirmed - news for fans: memorable Grey's Anatomy guest star Jeffrey Dean Morgan will reprise his role as Denny Duquette again! As we know, Denny passed away in Season Two, then returned to the show in Season Three during Meredith Grey's temporary visit to the afterlife.
How will be return to the show yet again in Season Five? One popular theory is that Izzie will begin seing visions of Denny after contracting her tumor.
A second source adds that such a plot, ironically, would be great for Katherine Heigl: “If her character does get a tumor, she’ll probably get an Emmy!”
A rep for ABC commented only briefly, saying, “We can confirm that [Jeffrey Dean Morgan] will be back, but we are not releasing any further details.”
OMGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG
Ixlovexmcdreamy - July 18, 2008 05:16 AM (GMT)

AND YAY EVERYTHING IS GOOOOOOOOD
joshgalassi23 - July 19, 2008 05:31 AM (GMT)
ANOTHER DENNY RETURNS ARTICLE!!!
Denny lives! Or, OK, probably not, but the ABC rep for Grey’s Anatomy just confirmed to us that Jeffrey Dean Morgan, known affectionately ‘round here as Dr. Sexy Pants, will return to Seattle Grace in the coming season.
When? How? Why?
ABC isn’t commenting further, but
I have it on good authority that Us Weekly’s story of a planned brain tumor for Katherine Heigl’s character, Izzie, was indeed the plan for this season, and in that plan, Izzie was to see “visions” of Denny. (And we can’t forget that E! Online’s own Marc Malkin first broke the story that Shonda Rhimes was considering doing something bad to Izzie this year.)
But here is the big ol’ hitch:
Shonda is pretty darn likely to change that storyline plan, now that the word is out. (In case you hadn’t heard, she’s not so down with the spoilers.) That’s precisely what happened a few seasons back, when some koo-koo-bird chick who covers TV at E! reported that Sandra Oh’s character, Cristina, was to have a lesbian storyline. (Storyline = totally scrapped.)
Still, JDM's casting confirmation lends further credence to the notion that the brain tumor could still happen. Unless another cast member is “crossing over”—remember Ellen Pompeo’s Meredith Grey saw Denny when she fell in the water and nearly died.

"Dr. Sexy Pants?"
I HOPE THEY BRING BACK DENNY!!!!!!!!
inmymcdreams - July 20, 2008 05:09 AM (GMT)
Haha. I hope they bring 'im back but in different circumstances. Couldn't she just have a few dreams or do some kind of illegal drug? Too simple. to be GA.
Cait - July 20, 2008 05:11 AM (GMT)
Dreams, I like those! Illegal drugs, I'd buy it! Being a resident is tough. LMAO
I am so fucking super stoked for Denny I don't even think you guys know. I MEAN SERIOUSLY.
And I'm for the tumor getting scrapped. :P As long as Denny comes back anyway and Izzie doesn't flat out die. (Oh how cruel... So very cruel...)
Caddie_Is_Love - July 20, 2008 03:40 PM (GMT)
But if there's no tumor, then HOW exactly are they going to work Denny into things? This is COMPLICATED…
Caddie_Is_Love - July 20, 2008 04:05 PM (GMT)
This has NOTHING to do with what we've been discussing, but WHO CARES?!

CALLLLLLLLLLLLICA!
I WOULD like to think she is talking about my video when she mentions "videos of them kissing over and over again to that song 'I Kissed a Girl'" haha pssh I can DREAM.
and what is with "the ice"? what is that???
Caddie_Is_Love - July 21, 2008 02:38 PM (GMT)
That's what I was thinking! I was like "Yeah, they ALL ripped off Josh's idea!"
I'm REALLY curious about that "ice," too. Wonder what it could be…
Looks like I may not be watching Season 5, though :(

Caddie_Is_Love - July 23, 2008 05:04 PM (GMT)
You got it Cindy - it's my mom. I asked if I could get S4, and she said that the Mark/Callie scene in the finale was "pornographic" and that I couldn't watch it anymore. She said that the things he said to her were things a 14-year-old shouldn't understand. Oh, if she knew that I understood EVERYTHING he said…

NEW Dish from Ausiello!
Can you please give me some Grey's Anatomy scoop? — Bryan
Ausiello: An epidemic of Gay Panic Syndrome will overtake Seattle Grace in the season premiere. At least according to Brooke Smith, who confirmed via video interview that there would be some serious fallout from the big Callie/Hahn smooch.

McBored - July 24, 2008 10:14 PM (GMT)
Serious fallout?? What is that supposed to mean? If some of my characters turn out to be homophobic I'll kick something really hard and scream...Although I can't imagine they could be...right? :(

I WILL KILL PEOPLE IF BAD THINGS HAPPEN.
Fallout?! GAHHHHHHH! WILL! WATCH! SEASON! 5!
Jen, I agree.
Cait - July 30, 2008 05:17 AM (GMT)
Like from who, I wonder? Joe and Walter are gay. No one cares about that.
I wonder if it's from George. Hm.

NEW SCOOP!
Question: I'm dying for something, anything, on Grey's Anatomy. — Lauren
Ausiello: Well, would you look at this — I found something! I'm hearing that Lexie Grey, a big ball of confusion following her impromptu smooch with George, reaches out to the unlikeliest of colleagues for advice: That raging whorebag known as McSteamy!
--
Good lord, I'm kind of tired of all the ladies going to "confide" in McSteamy with their woman problems. They always just end up sleeping with him anyway...
Cait - July 30, 2008 10:24 PM (GMT)
I concur Josh. What makes him seem like a person you'd confide in? But maybe McSteamy is changing his ways, IDK.

What IS it about Mark that makes women think he's the man to "confide" in, anyway? I agree!
McBored - July 31, 2008 01:18 AM (GMT)
I'll confide in Mark anytime!!!! :P :P
I agree though it'll probably be from George. You know, the whole"Meredith cried while having sex with me, Now my ex-wife loves a woman" thing.
joshgalassi23 - July 31, 2008 04:22 AM (GMT)
WHOA DER, Kristin from E! talked to Shonda and got some goods on both Grey's and PP (I'll post PP stuff in PP):
Shonda Rhimes is sharing! I caught up with the woman behind Grey's Anatomy and Private Practice, and she was more than chatty about such hot topics as Meredith and Derek, Izzie and Alex, Cristina's new fella and the possibility of a real relationship for one Dr. Addison Montgomery. Click in for tons of scoop on the new season!
Grey's Anatomy
Grey's Anatomy: What's in Store for Season Five
Where is the story taking us next season?I think a lot of the focus is going to be on the five core interns we've gotten to know—who aren't interns anymore—George (T.R. Knight), Izzie (Katherine Heigl), Cristina (Sandra Oh), Alex (Justin Chambers) and Meredith (Ellen Pompeo). I really want to focus on them as they deal with the next step in their training. We're also going to spend a lot of time with Mark (Eric Dane), Derek (Patrick Dempsey), Callie (Sara Ramirez) and Erica (Brooke Smith) and see their interactions.
Grey's Anatomy, Patrick Dempsey, Ellen Pompeo
Grey's Anatomy Relationships: Meredith & Derek, the Original and Still the Best
On to MerDer, are you tired of talking about them?I was until I got them together, and now it's a whole new world. There's a whole host of other problems that come with Meredith and Derek being together, and a whole host of other storylines, drama and excitement. So I'm really actually excited about them being together, because I feel like what I wanted you to leave with last season is Meredith standing in that field, having done this incredible thing, and the look on her face is a little bit like, "Oh my God, now I actually have to do this." That's important.
[NOTE FROM JOSH: Why is Shonda talking like they've never been together? Season 3 WOMAN!]
Is it more fun for you to write them together?Absolutely. It was a real challenge to figure out how to get them together...how to get Meredith to the place where she was healthy enough to make this step with Derek. Now that she's made the step with Derek, it's really exciting to see what's going to come next and how she's going to deal with living with a boy, and all the things a man like Derek, who has been married and is a grown-up, might expect.
MerDer is living together? Are they living in Derek's trailer or in Meredith's house? That you'll have to watch and see.
Is Rose going to be a thorn in MerDer's side?I don't necessarily think t hat she's a troublemaker for their relationship in the beginning.
Grey's Anatomy Relationships: Callie & Erica, the Newest Romance
Callie and Erica are going to be a couple next season, are they going to come out to the masses?Eventually that's going to play out. I feel like the important thing is that at the end of the season, Callie kissed a girl. We're going to watch that part of it play out: Did she mean to kiss a girl? What does it mean that she's kissed a girl? Is she excited about it? What does it mean for Erica? We don't really know Erica's side of the story yet in terms of what's going on with the two of them. Then we're going to watch the larger world of what happens when the two of them come out of the hospital, and what happens when Callie's dad (Hector Elizondo) finds out. I think it's going to be really interesting because I think it's very different to go from being 19 and declare this, and be a grown woman and declare this, when your family's already thought something else.
Will this season be a journey for them to discover their sexuality? They are definitely on a journey, and it's going to be a really interesting one. It's funny, the writers are really excited about it, and we spend a lot of hours talking about how we're going to do it, and what we're going to do, and what might the problems be, and the emotional aspects of it, and the fun that we can have with it.
It seems like they have great onscreen chemistry. Was that a driving force in getting them together? There is chemistry there, but also both actresses are so game; they're so willing to do something. Sara is such a fabulously comedic actress and has so much to give, and post-George I felt like she was searching for something. Callie and Erica together seem to have a lot of chemistry and dynamic. We really did start them out as being friends and it felt like there was something more there with them; the same kind of chemistry that I saw between Cristina and Burke (Isaiah Washington) before Christina and Burke got together.
Grey's Anatomy Relationships: Alex & Izzie, Heating Up?
We last saw Alex and Izzie getting hot and steamy, in a depressing sort of way. What's next for them?I think you're going to see a lot of really interesting sparks between the two of them.
Is there any truth to that rumor about Izzie having a brain tumor this season? No.
Grey's Anatomy: Meet the New Kidd
Kevin McKidd has a built-in McName. What's he going to be doing on the show? He's going to be playing Owen Hunt, who is a military doctor that comes to the hospital on leave.
He just happens to show up to a hospital where everyone falls for each other? Hmmm...Who is he going for?I think Cristina might find him fairly interesting.

Mmm... I hope McKidd isn't coming as a DOCTOR... Military doctors SUCK MAJOR ASS. I wonder if the writers know that though. I just think it's funny if he was, because it's like... Here is Seattle Grace with all of these GREAT doctors, and you've got this military doc coming in... Anyone who's gone to a military hospital knows they are the worst ever. *tee hees*
