What an Ass, what are they trying to turn him into

Ok, by the way it was shown in the promo, his mouth was NOT moving. If you guys dont believe me, watch the promo. Ok, yes he is being an ass. Maybe she needs to hear this to wake her up. But yes, he is being an ass. He is being a douche. And i dont like that he is being an ass. I'm not defending him at all but maybe this is what meredith needs to hear. Wake up call much?

I dont think he's saying these words as an intention to hurt her, he is saying its simply her to turn to step up and take an initiative in how she wants to work out this relationship. Derek is TERRIFIED of losing meredith. Shonda said this in the last podcast. He's going to fight for her with all his might. He loves her so much. Meredith needs to put up the same fight too. It's almost to derek, it seems like meredith is not real giving her all into the relationship, like he could be wasting his time. This is simply a wake up call to her. She needs to hear this and derek will not give up on her. Meredith needs to step up to the plate.

Why are we getting so worried about this though? I'm actually being optimistic. The promos happen in the beginning of episodes. They always do so alot can happen after this scene and during the finale. And derek did not cheat on meredith at the bar. I highly doubt he would persue bargirl. You guys shouldnt worry about it. Shonda will not sink to such a low to break them up, trust me.

yeah I noticed in the promo that is mouth was not moving also, wierd but yeah he his being such a jerk, hes not so dreamy when hes acting lke that

She's trying hard not to just run away, she's learning to deal and I'm damn proud of that tiny little fictional character. So ugh, Derek wtf...you know Meredith, you should be able to see she's trying to freaking breathe on her own!

it moves too fast for you guys to see his mouth not moving! He does say it, hence "sneak peek" it looks to me like he mumbles it thats why you cant see his mouth moving and his head is slightly bent so yeah.

He's still McAss to me. He should understand what Meredith is going through and yeah she shuts him out but he shouldve pushed harder, where's the McDreamy that pulled her out of the water? She was just reaching to him and he freaking burned her!

Okay as an actress myself I will tell you a lot of times in the industry they go back and VOICE OVER a scene. A prime example is the bridal shop scene, Callie clearly says I am not wearing this and her mouth wasn't moving. Though I watched it again and it looks like he says something before he turns. My guess is he just say 'yeah" or something and they edited it/voiced it over to be clearer and more BURNY (yes I make up my own words)

He says it, it just looks like it was voice overed as an edit.

It could have been edited from any other scene. He could of said it in a different scene and it was editted to be said in this scene. I'm not saying thats true but it is a possibility. I understand what you are saying.

It does not look like he says "you should be worried" in that scene. It definitely looks like a mumbled small reply (like yeah, like you said) but i dont think that he said it. Thats just my opinon.

From my personal experience I've never seen a sneak peek NOT be the actual scene from the episode. Promos yes, they do warp stuff on a regular basis but the sneaks, no. We'll see Thursday for sure.

Yeah, and they did the whole voiceover recording thing in the bomb ep. so it is very possible they could have did it with this. And also, Derek is FACING Mer as he says "Yeah you should be worried" and turns just as he is finishing the sentence it seems..

I i love derek right that is known, but i totally agree he is being a jerk! If he had reacted like this a while back when Mer didnt SEEM to be trying quite as hard as him then maybe, but she did try hard to open up and when she did he rejected her so obviously she is going to go back to what she knows!!! Besides her frikin mother died, then fake-mommy died, then her father told her he didnt want her!!! give the girl a break!!!
i understand that derek might be finding it hard work, she isnt the easiest of girlfriends and he is only human, but you can go too far......

I do agree that it is something she needs to hear, i think he does say it but doesn't mean it.

What i see with Meredith is when she wants to fix problems between her and derek, she runs to sex. Like in Desire, she knew he wasnt talking to her and she knew things were awkward between them but she thought that sex would fix the problem. It didn't and she got hurt. Derek shouldnt have had sex with her but do you honestly think he would turn her down when she's basically doing a strip tease right in front of him :rolleyes: lol? If he's a guy, no.

She's trying at it again and Derek is simply trying to get it across to her that sex isnt the main thing in their relationship. He needs that communication and sex isnt the only communication in a realtionship. He desperatley wants meredith to open up to him and she's going to have to step up if they want the relationship to work.

He's not saying it to hurt her, its just a point he's trying to get across to her. She needs to hear it

Yeah but before she had sex with him she spent all day trying to communicate with him! Im not saying shes not partly to blame because it is obvious that she numerous issues and insecurities, but i think Derek expects relationships to be easy or perfect, he has said numerous times 'it shouldnt be this hard' etc and you dont get the impression from Addie that Derek tried very hard to make their marriage work! (before the adultery!!!)
I think they are both dont know how to make a relationship work and they are both just learning! :rolleyes:

haha yeah I think that's why I like season 1 so much... there pretty much weren't any problems at all for anybody and it was all happy.

I was checking out the ABC boards and apperantly canada got an extended version of the sneak peak. This is actually what Derek says.

"Should you be worried that I met another woman? No. Should you be worried that flirting with her was the highlight of my week? Yeah, you should be worried."

Ok, i was giving him the benefit of the doubt but i'm sorry, that's messed up. What a cruel thing to say. I mean, saying you should be worried isnt all that bad because he's trying to get a message across but saying that... He wasnt really even flirting with her. He's trying to make mer jealous. But it's soo mean :(
